Deadlock’s recent major update has finally wrapped up, but there’s a strong reason to believe that a lot more could be coming down the pipeline very soon. With the experimental server activity ramping up, new early Hero concepts surfacing, and ongoing rumors about larger systems in development, Deadlock doesn’t look like it’s slowing down anytime soon.
Let’s break down what we know, what we don’t know, and what could realistically be next for Deadlock.

New Deadlock Hero Leak: Cheshire
The biggest recent discussion centers around a potential new hero called Cheshire, first posted by Deadlock UA on February 17. The early concept describes an ability called Secret Bag, where Cheshire pulls a teammate into the tunnels of the map — the same secret passages used by Rem. While inside the bag, Cheshire receives specific buffs.
These are early experimental concepts and should be taken with a grain of salt, especially as we’ve already seen conflicting descriptions of how Cheshire functions. In the past, heroes appeared in Hero Labs or on the test server long before final designs were locked in.
New heroes are inevitable. The real question is timing.
