San Diego Awarded 30th MLS Franchise

The MLS has announced that San Diego will be awarded the 30th franchise. Commissioner Don Garber announced the news at an event at Snapdragon Stadium, where the franchise will play.

The ownership group will include MLB star Manny Machado, who plays for the San Diego Padres.

San Diego will begin competition in the MLS during the 2025 season.

Las Vegas was also bidding to be the 30th franchise added by the MLS.
