Philadelphia started the game with energy, attacking the basket and pushing the tempo offensively. The 76ers moved the ball well in the opening minutes, creating scoring opportunities and attempting to keep Cleveland’s defense on its heels. Despite the early push from Philadelphia, Cleveland responded with strong execution on both ends of the floor.
Guard Donovan Mitchell helped set the tone for Cleveland offensively, orchestrating the Cavaliers’ offense while finding open teammates. Mitchell finished the game with 17 points and six assists, demonstrating his ability to both score and facilitate. His leadership allowed Cleveland to remain composed even when the game was competitive in the early stages.
While Mitchell controlled the offense, forward Evan Mobley made a significant impact on both sides of the ball. Mobley recorded 15 points and eight rebounds while protecting the rim and disrupting Philadelphia’s offensive rhythm. His presence in the paint limited second-chance opportunities and forced the 76ers to take difficult shots.
The game remained relatively close through the first half, but Cleveland began to separate themselves as their depth became a major factor. The Cavaliers received a key scoring boost from guard Keon Ellis, who provided valuable minutes off the bench. Ellis scored 19 points and brought energy that helped swing the momentum in Cleveland’s favor.
Philadelphia continued to fight, led by guard Quentin Grimes. Grimes delivered an impressive scoring performance, finishing with a team-high 28 points for the 76ers. His aggressive approach kept Philadelphia within striking distance throughout much of the first half.
Veteran forward Kelly Oubre Jr. also contributed for Philadelphia, adding 19 points and nine rebounds. Oubre’s ability to attack the rim and create scoring opportunities helped keep the 76ers competitive during stretches of the game.
However, the turning point came during the third quarter. Cleveland emerged from halftime with renewed energy and defensive focus. The Cavaliers tightened their defense and pushed the pace offensively, quickly building momentum.
During a crucial stretch in the third quarter, Cleveland went on a scoring run that significantly widened the gap between the two teams. Their defense forced turnovers and contested shots, while their offense capitalized on fast-break opportunities.
